You know, with the 100+ degree weather we get here in Texas during the summer,
you'd think we'd get a break during the winter. And usually, we do get a shorter "winter"
that's pretty much over by now.
But last night, it sleeted and hailed for at least 8 hours. I'm not sure how long it
actually kept going since I went to bed about 2:00 in the morning and it was still going.
As you can see, though, the whole place got coated with a nice sheet of shiny white ice.
The kids loved it. They got to stay home from school. And they got to play out in something
that was almost, but not quite, snow...when they weren't slipping and falling on their butts.
I wasn't so fortunate as to get off work. I could have taken off work, but it would have
come out of my vacation days. As it was, though, I was the only one of the dozen people
in my office that actually showed up for work. Oh well, it made for a productive few hours
while I was there with nobody to bug me.
To all of you who are saying, "It's about time you got some nasty weather," I just want you
to remember your joy when I wish our Texas summer on you in another 6 months.
Until later...
