July 30, 2003Rice Rice, BabyAnd as I finished my day at 3:00 in the morning, I made a late night snack of some leftover Chinese food from a couple of days earlier. It's kind of amazing how many little bitty grains of rice make enough to fill you up. I guess life is like that too, though. A day never seems to be filled with only one thing. Tons and tons of little things pile up to fill up your time. By the time it's over, you can't remember what all you did. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 29, 2003Speak UpUnobtrusively sitting on the front of my last computer is this speaker grill. It doesn't stand out much. It doesn't get in the way. But it sure is a pretty blue. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 28, 2003Dead RingerWith two children, I've seen plenty of teeth come in. And there to help all along the way were the teething rings. It's amazing how fast they go from getting their first tooth in to losing their first tooth. Life passes by so quickly...even when you're right there watching it. Don't forget to enjoy the moments you have...because they only come once...and they go by fast. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 25, 2003On Pins...This pointed pin picture populates the position of pic 150 posted to this page. I'm practically popping with pride. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed since I started posting photos every day...and only missed a couple of days in there. 150 down...may the next 150 be as much frolicking fun to photograph as the the first few photos here featured. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 24, 2003Shriveled Sugary SunshineAaah...the healthiness of fruit...coved in sugar...with preservatives added...mixed with bran and other things to give back a little of the nutritional value. Oh well...it made a nice late night snack. = ) -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 20, 2003Floridly FushiaHanging around by my back door is this tree, which blooms each spring with these bright magenta flowers. Right now, even in the middle of these 100 degree days, it still continues to bloom. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 19, 2003Chill Out, ManFriday it reached at least 103. That's what it said when I looked at the temperature at 5:00 in the evening anyway...with 111 heat index. This picture right here is one of the most beautiful things in the world to me right now. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Dallas, Texas USA

July 18, 2003Basket CaseAaah...the empty life of an Easter basket who is between Easters. Anxiously it awaits another helping of candy...knowing the day will come. But in the meantime, it impatiently, expectantly watches for the succulent sweets that bulge its bountiful belly. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 17, 2003Say CheeseBack in high school I got my first 35mm camera from my dad for a black & white photography class I was taking. This is the lens that sits on that camera. It's served me well over the years...but as you can see is now rather dusty. A little digital camera seduced me away from my 35mm and I've not gone back. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 16, 2003Melon HeadEvery time I went to visit my grandmother as a kid, she had cantaloupe in the house. According to my mom, that was the case while she was growing up as well. And probably is still the case today (although I don't get up to see her very often now that I live a few hundred miles away...and so can't check that out). Although that's one of the few melons whose taste I don't like, I still like the way the texture looks. This one wandered home to feed my wife and kids. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 15, 2003Take NoteAaah...a familiar sight for anyone who's ever been in school. Even for several years after school I always took notes in meetings and kept contact information in a notebook or in a daytimer (which is just a glorified notebook isn't it?). I've since given up the notebook for the laptop and the Palm Pilot (which I guess is just an electronic glorified notebook ;). But I think I still have quite a few notebooks full of information stuffed in closets around the apartment. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Dallas, Texas USA

July 13, 2003Put It On IceAaah...Texas weather is so unpredictable. Here it is the middle of summer and I'm taking photos of icicles. Ok...it's not that unpredictable. This is just the result of our freezer being in bad need of a defrosting. As for the chances of seeing anything frozen outside here in Dallas...as I'm writing this it's about midnight and still 85 degrees. I think frozen weather patterns are quite a ways away at this point. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 12, 2003This Must Be The Nut HouseEvery time I see or eat peanuts I'm reminded of an earlier time in my life when I saw way more than my fair share of nuts. (Not that I'm not in the presence of plenty of nuts on a daily basis now...just a different kind of nuts.) But for two summers while I was in college I worked in a candy and snack food factory. Let me tell you, you haven't lived 'til you've been surrounded by several 500 pound bins of peanuts. When I say I saw tons of peanuts (and other nuts) a day...I'm not exaggerating. It's a miracle I still like 'em. But somehow, I think I liked them more than ever even after being surrounded by them for so long. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 11, 2003Curly CommunicationFor years, the cord connecting my keyboard to my computer was one of these curly ADB cords. With the advent of USB, everything is all straight and boring. July 10, 2003Blue Light SpecialI know I had a photo of this same burner in the light a few months ago, but I wanted to take some photos of it in the dark to better accentuate the flames...so I did. July 09, 2003All It's Quacked Up To BeThis is my daughter's rubber ducky. She loves to squeak it in the bath. But then she loves anything that squeaks or makes noise. Haven't we all had a well-loved rubber ducky or a similarly loved bath time toy sometime in our lives, though? I think I had a squeaky rubber tugboat that I played with in the bathtub as a kid. What about you? What accompanied you in your bath time fun? Feel free to leave comments below. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Apartment in Dallas, Texas USA

July 07, 2003A Bugged BugOn my last day of vacation, my brother called me over to my parents' grape arbour to see the Japanese beetles that were eating up all of the leaves. So I finished my vacation a little bugged. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Parents' House in Fishers, Indiana USA

July 06, 2003Go For The BlockI spent many an hour building up towers of these blocks (and knocking them back down) when I was a kid. While I was wandering around my parents' house yesterday I came across one of my old blocks and decided to take some photos of it to remember my youth a little bit more. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Parents' House

July 05, 2003Can You Picture That?My father was showing me the collection of little cameras he inherited from my grandmother yesterday. In the collection was this little Brownie camera. He also showed me several photos that were taken with that camera. Wow. Talk about major steps in functionality and quality in cameras between then and now. But it sure is cute. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Parents' House

July 04, 2003Let's SeeThis is a piece of my life that has been with me for almost twenty years. Every day when I wake up I put them on. And they're generally the last thing I take off at night. I turned this into a duo-tone photo with the color taken from the woodgrain in order to do away with some of the color distractions that were reflected in the table. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: My Parents' Dining Room

July 03, 2003A Light Unto My PathFirst of all, I'm sorry that there was no photo yesterday. I was in the car all day and unable to post. I'll try not to let it happen again. = ) Anyway, I arrived at the end of the trip and was met by a series of these lights to light my path to the door. July 01, 2003Wishy WashyFor eight hours on Monday, this is what I saw. Well, this and the accompanying driers. This is a lesson in time management. Never get too busy to do the ordinary, everyday things. They add up...and pile up. And soon, what would be a few minutes of work turns into a few hours. See you all tomorrow. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: The Washroom at my Apartments in Dallas, Texas USA
