August 20, 2003Blending Mode This little fellow and his relatives have been hanging around behind our wall-mounted mailbox at night for a few years. Since the mailbox is right underneath the porch light, they know the insects will be nearby. So there they sit and wait for their lunch. Yesterday morning this little guy was sitting on our front door and jumped down when I opened it. He ran in the house and skittered all over the place trying to escape me. I eventually trapped him and put him out on the sidewalk. He was scared half to death and didn't move for several minutes. August 13, 2003Can You Hear Me Now? (Sorry for the intermittent updates the past week. I was house hunting out of town and not able to get on-line a couple of those days.) This photo represents how I spend a lot of my time. I always have music playing in the background or foreground if at all possible, wherever I am. August 06, 2003I Toad You So This little fellow was hopping through my sister-in-law's yard a couple of days ago. I almost stepped on him since he was so well camoflauged and so small. He's only about an inch and a half long. Within a few minutes of taking his picture, though, I saw two or three others his size hopping around in the yard.
