December 23, 2005Bad To The BoneDo you know how bad these lands are? They're So bad that... ...well, they're not that bad. In fact, they're rather nice. Beautiful place to be if you like tall (or deep) eroded layers of rock all around you. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: "The Badlands" in South Dakota

December 20, 2005Water On The RocksTaking a hike all the way around Silvan Lake made for a very relaxing afternoon this summer. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Silvan Lake in the Black Hills of South Dakota

December 19, 2005Nature's CarpetI never realized how much moss looks like carpet 'til I got a look at it from this angle. I wonder what my wife would say to doing our living room in this nice shade of green. "Hey honey, have you watered the carpet today?" Oh well...maybe not. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Custer State Park, South Dakota

December 18, 2005Cut 'Em Off At The PassContinuing on from yesterday's theme...while hiking in South Dakota's needles, we came to this pass that just made a perfect frame all by itself. No need to buy one. = ) -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Custer State Park, South Dakota

December 17, 2005Eyeless NeedlesIt was great hiking around the hills around the Needles in South Dakota. Needless to say, we didn't climb straight up the side of this cliff, but did climb several others...on their non-cliff side. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Custer State Park in South Dakota

December 16, 2005Mystic MountainThe fog that was over "The Needles" that day made them look like something out of an adventure move... "As our fearless heroes make their way up the Mystic Mountain to the evil overlord's castle, they shiver in the cool misty fog that covers their journey." But despite the way it looks, it was actually a rather normal, warm day (in the middle of summer in South Dakora). -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: "The Needles" in Custer State Park in South Dakota

December 15, 2005And That's No BullThese two were only a small part of the couple of hundred buffalo we saw gathered together in Custer State Park that day. There were several mommies with their babies...and they made sure none of us humans got anywhere near them. -Tony (Eravau) Camera: Nikon CoolPix 4500 Location: Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota
